A boxed set of 51 stereo cards issued by Sears, Roebuck & Co. illustrating its buildings and operations. The company's plant was spread over 40 acres, with a number of buildings, a railroad yard, a garden, and fountains. The stereo cards show views of the packing department, the order department, the catalog printing department, the telephone switch board, the power plant, the mail opening department, the watch making department, the men's and boy's clothing manufacturing department, and other aspects of this large business, which employed 9000 people. It had its own fire department, the members of which are shown during a drill. Employee amenities included a restaurant, a cafeteria, and a hospital. New employees learned their jobs at the training school. Company founder Richard Warren Sears is depicted on two cards, both numbered 1.
